I've given up with ebay, I think they became too greedy, and their high commissions have driven away a lot of sellers.
Has anyone tried Ebid?
It seems their commission is low, or even Free!
I guess they have a low audience (at the moment) but I guess that could change.
Anyone used it?

(I have no affiliation with Ebid)

eBay still generated the largest audience and hence higher fees. there are plenty of other lower/no fee places, so what? no ones heard of them either.

I agree that Ebay is too much these days. I've been selling with them since 1998 but hardly use them now due to cost.

We are NOT the only ones to figure this out. There will be others to jump in and make a little less and take over Ebay's unhappy customers.

Ebay is just too greedy. Esp in today's economy.

What's wrong with competition?

Ebay was one of the greatest outcomes of the information age. It was one place where all markets were expanded to a vast number of (otherwise) non-customers. Unfortunately, like most great things, it matured and turned into something else. One of my customers closed up their so-so antique shop since Ebay made them MUCH more money.

It's basically a victim of requiring ever increasing revenue from a market that is beyond its peak. They made money hand over fist at one time. The investors appear to demand even more money hand over fist when the market won't support it in the manner it once did.

I never really wrapped around that kind of entitlement mentality.

What if there was a site called 'All Bid' A site the checked the item you wanted on ALL Auction websites.
There's competition for you!
Ebay would not like that :-)

I hate E-bay just for the fact that on 90% of the stuff I sell, they hold my money for days and even weeks. The few ruin it for the many. Lots of thieves on E-bay, but I haven't found another place that is as viewable(audience).

Almost all the items on ebay or no longer bid items, and if they are they start the item out at $10 under retail cost. I hardly find anything used and at a steal of price like the old days.
