So I ordered 12 xg4967 oil filters from ebay. They sent me 6 and they said they would send me 6 more. It took a couple days for me to figure it out. So they sent me 6 xg3614 oil filters. Were they trying to upgrade me for the mistake or did they not pay attention again? I do believe according to what people on here said that the 3614 will fit and it looks like it will on my bigger mower, but not the smaller one. On the smaller mower it's going to hit the wiring harness that I already have zip tied back slightly for the xg4967 to fit.

Kind of annoying really. I worked in a warehouse for two years and never sent the wrong part let alone twice on the same person. Honestly I just wanted the xg4967 cause then that filter works on every mower I have.

Yep. They can try again and send me the correct ones.

Yet another reason why I detest online shopping. Something seems to get screwed up like clockwork every time I shop online.

You did better than me.
I ordered some poly bubble mailers from a EBay vendor that I have used for a few years. They sent me Kraft mailers
instead and I just sent them a note on the screw up and said I need them so I will just use what you sent.
No reply at all. That's fine but I will shop with someone else next time.

I would just contact them and try to get them to fix the situation. Most ebay sellers are usually pretty good, since they don't want to lower their seller ratings.

I've found that sending pics of the wrong product or issue and being polite usually gets everything resolved pretty quickly. Mistakes do happen, and oddly enough I've found it easier dealing with ebay sellers for returns than a lot of the brick and mortar type stores.

Really poor title. E-Bay didn't sell you or ship you the wrong filters. The seller did.

I'm sorry you find yourself in this circumstance. However, don't blame the website that gathers buyers and sellers for the mistake of the seller.

If you can use them, great. If not, sell them on.

Either way, if the goods you received were not as advertised the seller 'scammed' you and as such you are entitled to a full refund, no questions asked. Log a complaint with PayPal.

wonder what the seller rating is on this one.

just post the link to the auction. then we can appropriately assign blame the seller or OP from the peanut gallery.

I have bought good 3614 sized filters from Rock Auto for under $2 each.
How much did they charge you for them?

That's what I was thinking.
Save the bigger ones for the mower that needs them.

You DO KNOW that the flow through these engines is really low, due to a tiny (minuscule) oil pump, right? It means you can run these XG filters for a long, long, long, long time. They handle like, 5-10% what a car oil pump flows. One filter will just about last the life of the engine. Expect to see that sometime in the future

Rock Auto doesn't sell any Fram XG filters that cheap... yet.

On the other hand, R.A. does sell Casite (Hastings) oil filters for only $1.09 each!!

Conscientious.

If it happens often it might be the guy in the mirror....

It was the seller, not eBay.

If the seller didn't sell you what you ordered and you don't want them, get your money back, simple. eBay/PayPal changed their policies a while back to make it much easier for buyers to fight bad transactions.

There is no upgrading, the seller gave you what they gave you and only you can say whether you want to keep them or not.

Lodge a dispute with eBay and PayPal against this seller and get your money back. I've been a part of hundreds of transactions on eBay, never has a seller sent me something as egregious as six oil filters I didn't ask for. One time I did get expired Loctite though which I disputed and got my money back for.

Nor have I had a seller send me my shipment in parts. There's something wrong with this seller, don't play games and don't settle for less. If you wouldn't accept this at a store why accept it from this person? You're paying for the items, you're not receiving hand-me-downs for free.

Get your money back, savage their feedback rating and find a reputable seller. Always check seller feedback too.

Since when did ebay start giving out full refunds at the blink of an eye? People have businesses and try to make a living on ebay, so the fact that some of you guys just say get your money back is kind of ridiculous. At least let the guy fix the mistake. The last time I tried to get my money back on something I bought on ebay it was a 45 minute ordeal on the phone where I had to send pcitures, and the lady still didn't believe the part was wrong, but I finally got her to cave. I was like can't you see how this part sticks out 1/4" and the part he gave me doesn't?? Okay okay fine.
