Hello,
After finally exhausting my Napa Gold stash of filters and reading all of the Fram Ultra reviews on here for years, I decided to give them a shot. I'm sure I had read good reviews on here for eBay seller SAE Auto (eBay feedback about 98.5%), so I bought a 6-pack for about $22 shipped. They arrived today and I could not be more disappointed. The shipping box was perfect, but inside I found what were clearly returns and/or store rejects. Every box is crushed to some extent, two of them had the seals torn off - and one had the actual box torn off where the seal would have been. I inspected the filters in the "unsealed" boxes and box have dents in the endcap. One directly on the end, one on the side of the grippy material. I did not open the boxes with the seals intact.
I have already fired off a message to the seller with pictures and asked for a refund.
My questions are:
*Did I buy from the wrong seller? If so, who should I buy from?
*Is this typical of this seller or are they normally new stock unblemished filters like I expected? Maybe I just caught the new guy who meant to send these to scrap?
*Has anyone had this experience before? Should I expect my requested refund or expect to put up a fight?
Thanks!
Adam
