Is there an easy way to remove painted on pinstripes from my new car? I really don’t want to spray lye (Easy Off) on my new paint. I’m thinking I might just live with them from everything I’ve read about removing them. At first I thought they were stickers, but they appear to be painted on.

Depends on what paint they used I suppose. Acetone might do it. Scraping with a razor may do it. Compound may take it right off.

Hard to say, really. I'd experiment if it bothered me.

My guess is the stripes are vinyl and the Honda logo is paint. The stripes look to uniform for paint and the H looks like a different color, like a stencil was used for the H. I'd try to get them off as soon as you can otherwise it may ghost.

It looks like they may have applied stick on stripes on the base coat then cleared over them going by the reflection on the stripes. If that's the case you will damage the paint job. Make sure before attempting to remove them.

On my 2013 Accord the dealer installed them. I used Goo Gone and a hair dryer. They were on top of the clear coat. Do not pull straight out. Pull back, not out. Pulling out can yank off the paint.

My daughter bought a new CRV last year off dealer lot. It had vinyl strips on it. We did want them dealer had them off in 1/2 hour with zero damage Vinyl isn't an issue as long as they aren't sun baked

I hate dealers! You can see a faint outline of a box around the H logo. Looks like they they cleared over the decal.

Those are vinyl on top of the paint. If unsure try to grab an edge with your fingernail. If it grabs peel the edge and pull them off. Heating with a hair dryer helps

Without better pics, or actually tactile investigation, I'd say this was the case. If so, live with it because removing them WILL cause it to look worse. I personally think they are tasteful looking and as long as they are straight, wouldn't have an issue keeping them on. They are way more subtle than a huge chrome flitzer emblem stuck to the fender/forward door area that seem to be so popular these days. If you do decide to keep them, just make sure to use a good wax/sealant with a sunscreen. Typically manufacturer "painted" stripes are just a vinyl decal and will degrade due to UV damage more quickly (even under a clearcoat) than the base paint.

Those really look like tape stripes to me. I’d try to get a fingernail under one edge and see if they peel back. A rubber eraser wheel and some wax and grease remover will take them right off.

Pretty sure those are vinyl strips. If cold out you could also warm them up a bit with a hair dryer.

Try a dab of carnauba wax on the "H." Let it sit there for 15 minutes. See if it comes off. I use carnauba wax to remove tar on the paint. Works great.
