Easiest vehicle to change oil + filter ?

Both of my Subarus did not require the use of a jack or ramps, just slide the pan under, 17mm wrench for the drain, and the filter is vertical right there with nothing hot around it...a big 20mm drain bolt hole makes all of the oil come out REALLY FAST. Me likey.

My 02 Cavilier Ecotec has to be in the running. Cartridge filter from the top. Pan plug is a easy reach from the front of the car with the wheels on the floor. Oh, yes, 2 grease fittings I can reach through the spokes of the wheels.

Well I can honestly say that my '02 4.6 F-150, wife's '05 4.6 Explorer and my '96 2.0 Zetec Contour ALL bite when it comes to changing of oil and filter

. Oh well. All the more reason to use oils and filters that last longer

Yep. An oil and filter change on sis's '98 Outback is a 10 minute job. Everything is about a foot behind the front bumper.

This would be the perfect car for those who want (have?) to change their oil in a parking lot.

There's nothing to remove, there's nothing even close to being in the way, nothing hot to avoid... nothing to it.

Yep, me too. Have been running this setup since '77. I imagine any inline six or 4 banger would be similarly easy.

+3 for the 300 six......I had two trucks which were both easy as pie..

The old K-cars were easy too, I used to change out the oil in my Mom's Dodge Aries in just a few minutes...It was a junker but started every day.....

Jeep XJ Cherokees with the 4.0l 6 cylinder are pretty simple. Filter is easily accessible from the top and drain plug is easy to reach.

I had a mid-90's Probe GT that was cake. I could completely change the oil in <5 minutes if I wanted to. Plenty of ground clearance and easy access.

I second the 83 Maxima. Takes all of five minutes without having to get on your knees.

I consider any car that I don't have to jack up or ramp to get underneath an "easy" job, as such my Crown Vic's are pretty easy.

I have a conventional pick and a controvercial one. Our 87 Riv and our 98 lesabre both had the filter 6 inches away from oil plug. Nothing in the way, nothing for the oil to drip on, you didn't even have to move the pan.

Now arguably the 87-92 Iron Duke(GM 2.5) was easier. You simply remove one large plug and the oil quickly drained. Then pull out the filter. This means the oil literally took seconds to drain. You could change the oil in less then 5 minutes easily.

Cadillac CTS 2004-2007 with the 3.6l v6 is done in 20 minutes including opening a beer!

You dont need to jack the car. Turn the wheels to the left, look at the right tire now.. what do you see? The drain plug! Once done, open the hood. The oil cartridge is right there on top next to the engine. switch from old to new one and put new 5.7l of new oil and your done!

x2

Vibe oil change are easy. filter is vertical and easy to remove. Sunfire filter is not, you have to have a skinny arm to reach behind the engine to remove.

Another vote for Jeep 4.0, in my limited experience. I don't have to jack it up, just wiggle underneath, and swap the filter from the top. Checking the transmission fluid is more of a PITA for the Jeep than changing the oil.

I'll put in a vote for the 2.3/2.4 OHC engine in the Cavalier. Unlike the 2.2 OHV, the filter is right out front, in the open. Ecotecs on the Cavvy/Cobalt are nice and easy.

When all of these are sooo easy, its really frustrating that the 2.2 OHV engine is SO HARD to do!!!

Definately super easy! I don't even have to jack mine up; I just reach under from just in front of the passenger's tire to reach the drain plug.
