The YJ gets no love already because of the square headlights but add this factory option Renegade body package and it really gets weird. Saw this really clean totally stock example in a local parking lot. What was Jeep thinking?

You know Derick (VGG) was doing one recently and i was thinking "that thing needs round headlights - STAT" but his is beautiful compared to that.

I always thought one of those would be the perfect base for a 'muscle Jeep', a RWD V8-swapped YJ with a fabricated front end designed to handle, simply because it would be ugly and dumb and different and fun.

One of the bosses here at the office had one of those that he bought brand new. I don't think I ever saw very many others in person.

Always loved the YJ's and XJ's for that matter, the YJ's had a quirky dash layout that I liked. That body style...let's just say beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The VW Thing & Jeep had a baby. Interesting design option package. I'd imagine not many opted for it. Neat to learn about though.

I was born in 1990, so the YJ Wrangler was the one I grew up knowing, especially after it was featured in Jurassic Park. The square headlights don't really bother me, even now owning a TJ. I'd love to have a YJ, but the Renegade is certainly a strange look. The YJs also ride a bit rough compared to the later Jeeps with coil springs.
