Eagle 1 Gel Wax

I saw an infomurcial about some of Eagle 1's new products and coincidently, AAP has them on sale right now, 3 for $10. I want to try the Gel Wax as this product according to the commurcial, you don't need to allow it to dry to a haze. Just put it on and wipe it off.

Eage 1 compared it to Nu-Finish(as a wax) and Turtle Wax Ice(as a put on wipe off) type products.

I love quick detail and wax as you dry type products so I am going to give this a try. Won't be until spring time but I'll buy it now. Can't wait to try it!

These days, although I still love washing my vehicles, I don't particular care for waxing them anymore as I have done so much detailing in my life(35+ yrs) as a side business that I'm kinda burned out on it. Shoulders/neck/back can't take it anymore. I love the quick products after washing/drying and then applying a fast shine each time...Quickly!

Folks often tell me how nice my cars look always. My cars always look and feel just waxed. It's easy!

Anyone care to comment?

I care about how durable the product is and that is why I like NuFinish. If this new product is as durable (Long lasting and protection), I'll try it.

I have been impressed with Eagle-1 Products. I am sure you are not going to be disappointed. I have to say I like the New Finish, not impressed with the NXT 2.0(Meguires), though it comes off easily, it wears out really fast in the FL sum. Just got some Collinite Insulator wax which has great reviews, haven't tried it yet but will chime in soon.

I used Nu-Finish for years back in the 80'-90's and liked it and recomended it as it is a well rounded product, meaning...

Easy to apply/remove
Romoves light oxyidation
Leaves a nice shine
Decent durability/longevity
Reasonably priced

I never tired to see or figure out if it will really last a whole year without reapplying.

What mag has the offer? ("Car" magazine???) Ashland played dumb when I tried to get the offer emailed.

BTW... If you're not aware of the 3/$10 deal, you may pay $4/per as AAP has some other promotion going on. Although I like free best!

Well, I just washed both my wifes car an mine and used the Eagle 1 Gel Wax w/carnuba & Nano Technology and I must say, I really like the end result.

The finish on the paint is smooth(er) than anything I have used recently and [just about] as easy to use as any quick detail type products(that I love). The paint feels as though I clayed it first but, that's not the case. What I did was washed the vehicle very well, removing any extra road grime/tar from the winter. Even though the vehicles had been washed through out the winter(as temps permitted), they needed a really good hand washing.

Once dry, I applied the GelWax on an applicator pad(as you would with wax/silicone) and rubbed it into the paint but, wiped it off right away using a micro-fiber towel. It does become a bit harder to remove if left on too long but, not that difficult to remove is left on way too long. Outside temps were cool...About 40+ deg's F.

I tried on a couple of spots, just applying the GelWax and leaving it there while I did the rest of the vehicle. It comes off fine with a bit of mild rubbing. Doesn't hurt the paint if left there tooooo long!

A couple of coats might be the ticket but, I only applied one coat.

I noticed that while applying the GelWax, it goes on in a clear smearing texture look. It does not dry to a haze and will not leave dried wax in scratches, stone chips or cracked paint as does your typical wax/silicone products that do dry to a haze.

The feel of the finished product on the paint reminds me of "Yellow Wax" Carnuba. The finish is streak free and I look forward to using this product in the summer where the tempuratures are much higher than the 40+ degrees F of this past weekend. Also, I'd like to try it on my black Firebird FORMULA as I am curious about the streaking on a darker paint in the heat. I'm also curious just how this product will work in direct summer sunlight.
