I've been hearing about these spark plugs and was wondering if anyone on here used them, and if they are any good. The claims are that these plugs increase engine performance and MPG.
On my push mower E3 plugs did indeed consume less gas per mowing session. I bought 5 gallons of gas and used it throughout the summer. I mowed in similar temp & humidity as I used a thermometer. I compared the E3 next to a champion, autolite, and NGK spark plugs. Take this or leave it. I started with 18 oz of gasoline and after every mow had 4 oz or so left than using comparible plugs. No im not payed by them either.
Waste of money ,just like Splitfire or the fancy Bosch ,,spark is spark ,,it is going to conduct to the nearest conductor no matter what design prong or how many are on it ,If you need a hotter plug get another heat range
E3's SUCK! I have seen them work good in lawn equipment however, but for cars and trucks - NO they are a gimmick and plain copper so you go backwards in technology.
I had no issues with a set of E3 plugs in my 89 Accord. I experienced no advantages compared to the standard NGK or Denso plugs, though. I got my E3's on a special through DriveWire so they were cheap.
I use them in my yard equipment( lawn mowers, snow blowers, generator, etc... )and find they seem to help there with start up and such. However, I will not use them in a vehicle. Have seen pictures of E3's pulled from car engines with some of the electrodes completely gone. I can fix a small engine faily cheap and easy if they ever caused a problem. In a car engine not so easy and definitely not cheap.
