Recently had a virus on my wife's desktop. About two weeks later, picked one up on my laptop. Both computers had Norton 360 on them and were scanned regularly. Had both computers wiped completely from two different service providers. One put AVG Free on the desktop and the other put ESET NOD 32 Antivirus on my laptop. Both machines scan clean. However, the problem since this time is that one of our Yahoo e-mail accounts has been spoofed and friends, family, acquaintances of ours have received ads for viagra, electronic liquidations, and most recently, a canadian drug firm with our name on them. My suggestion to my wife was to disable the corrupted account with Yahoo and use our other e-mail account, however she cannot figure out how to do it. Would be interested in finding out whether or not this can be done or any other ideas/suggestions to minimize or eliminate this problem. Thanks in advance.

Keylogger ? Change pass to strong pass. Check the full header id the email originating as Ur wife. Is the up address Ur?
Think they are just bouncing mail off their own servers as Ur wife

Update: Tried the Superantispyware on the desktop. Pulled up 19 issues. Ran it on my laptop and the machine locked up. Ended up running the recovery disks and rebuilding my desktop. My hobby the last week when I have had spare time (busy week @ work ) was to get the laptop back up again. The SAS did not appear to solve the issue as 2 more e-mails went out to everyone after that . Thanks SrDriver for the link. We ended up setting up a new e-mail account and deleting our current account. Hope this resolves the issue.
