Thinking about an 75/90 or 80/90 blend for the differentals in my Subaru. Any thoughts on the goodness of the Durablend or is there another I should consider? Interested in responces from users or those who scrutinize the base oil & additive packages. Thank You

Eddie, I went with the Durablend in my Subaru (front or rear diff whichever it was that said 80W/90) for a while. I guess it worked OK. I only bought it because it was the only 80W/90 the place had and I wanted what the OM specified.

I switched to Amsoil Severe Gear SVG 75W90 front and rear after that. It seems to be working fine.

Next change I want to go with Specialty Formulations HDS-5 75W90.

What's the 'Duralube' in the post title?

That's something for a pre-BITOG life.

I imagine that if it meets GL-5 spec's ..then it's just as good as the next non-syn gear oil. Otherwise, consider some of the recommendations that PorQpine offered.
