Using Widman's calculator and the following viscosities:
Pennzoil Conventional 5w20: 53.3 @40C, 8.26 @100C (Taken from the VOA board.)
RT6 5w40: 87 @40C, 14.2 @100C (PDS info)

The final viscosities of a 50/50 mix are:
67.8 @ 40C
10.8 @ 100C

So it would be a 5w30, pretty much right in the middle of the grade.

And with a HTHSV of 3.2cP a tad heavier than most 5w30s.
BTW I don't think the Pennzoil conventional KV40 spec' is right. I thought it was in the 47-48cSt range.

First it was slick50 and duralube...then it was seafoam...now its thin oil...Hows that for encouragement?

Stick with your view, we need that or BITOG will flip over from all the thin oil!

Thank you guys, and CATERHAM for the great info. I am still learning a ton here, and CATERHAM, if you took Rotella 15w40 and mixed that with like rotella syn blend(gray bottle) 50/50 would you get a heavier 15w40?

That could be. I checked Pennzoil's website for a pds, but it was down for maintenance. I used VOA values for Pennzoil conventional instead.
