Hi All! thanks for ALL your help over the past months!

i have a 2002 Lexus es300. about 83,000 miles. rear brakes were done in 2007 and 55,000 miles or so. they look awful rusty to me.

time to do them? they are over 4 years old and 30,000 miles.

my friend will help me.

best

bob

and thanks

No need to touch them if they're not seized and the pads are still good. My brakes are still almost like new at 7.5 years and 60k miles.

Rotors will get rusty sometimes. Take them out for a quick drive with some firm braking and they should all be shiny again immediately after if none are seized.

thanks guys!! the rotors are not rusty where the pads rub. i have no idea what the pads measure!!! they might still be OK!

they are not making any noises.

best

bob

and thanks.

You can get rust in 15 minutes on brake rotors.
So some is very normal.
If the calipers are free, the pads have life left in them, and the rotors are not warped, keep driving.
