Short story here,
in my home town, the Wal-Mart prices weren't all that incredible, so I usually opted for the rebate route with AAP or other Auto Parts stores because they saved me a few more bucks.
I recently moved about an hour and a half away from my old hometown due to a new job, and as a result I'm closer to another city that's a few thousand people larger. I decided to check out their auto parts stores and I saw a few oils I haven't seen in stores, but after supper we went to the Wal-Mart there to buy groceries, so I took a look on my "man time" at some of the oils they had. (BITOG, you have made me a nerd)
I was pleasantly surprised! I started looking at synthetics and what caught my eye first was that Quaker State UD was only $20.54 for a 5.1 qt bottle. Zing! Pennzoil Platinum was only four bucks more, and even Mobil 1 was $26. I was accustomed to seeing all of these jugs go for $30 or more at my old Wally world. What a difference!
Even Castrol, which was $18 at my hometown, was $13 here. Man.
I called my wife over and I said this is where we are buying oil now, she said wow, those are good prices, I said yes ma'am, so I am pretty much through with rebates for the time being!
Just wanted to share my findings!
