Background, my Lexus LS400 has 185K+ on it now.
I scored some oil from the autozone clearance that I'm thinking of running. OCI is typically 5K in one year.
Manual calls for API SH 5w30

I got a bunch of Pennzoil Euro 5w30.
It is rated API SN and ACEA C3.

I also got a bunch of M1 0w30 ESP.
It is rated ACEA C2,C3. No API spec on bottle.

M1 5w30 ESP is SN/SM rated though...?

All I know is it meets VW 507.00

Man this is unfair. I was looking for that sale here, but nothing. Then people who do not need that oil, have opportunity to buy it:)
Those oils are overkill for your Lexus. Here is pita. They have high quality additives, but low TBN due to very low level of SAPS. They are primarily made for diesels and Euro cars.
Since your Lexus is not DI engine, I think you could do 5K OCI. In DI engines due to high sulfur in the U.S. gas they do not do good.
I tried Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 in VW CC and Tiguan, and oil was done at 3-4K. BUT, those are DI engines.
Also, your engine might feel bit sluggish since those are thick W30 oils, almost W40.

And the question is?

You could run any of that oil and not care

Is the Mobil 1 ESP 0w30 that is only rated C2,C3 safe to use in my LS400 gas engine?
