Dual boot Windows 10 on a Windows 11 machine using a virtual disk

I have a RossTech VagCom tool for my Audi. Yesterday I decided to reset the service reminder and it turns out the USB tool I'm using is no longer supported on Windows 11. So I'm thinking about creating a dual boot machine. But using a virtual drive.

Has anyone done that and what do I need to look for? I've never done this before but my skill set is somewhat 'expurt" level.

You totally can, in essence it will work like a kvm hypervisor on top of a SAN. Although, it will require some additional steps that you have never done before and likely will never do again.

IMO it will be easier to run a hypervisor program like virtual box and to allow USB passthrough. That way you do not need to boot into windows 10, you'll only need to open up the program and start the virtual win10 machine, then exit the program when you're done.

I am not familiar enough with the various subscription strata of Windows, but I know some of them have a built-in virtualization platform called Hyper-V.

Unfortunately only the Pro flavor has it, but @Vil_Riker, if you do have win11pro, I would suggest HyperV over the rest.
