Super-easy to make and not sweet at all:
Crumble 180 g waffles (Vanilla. almond etc wafers, Loacker brand or similar) and mix with:
150 g plain marzipan (baking variety works fine)
200 g chopped nuts (whatever you like)
2 tablespoons maple syrup
0.25 cups rum (bourbon or any other liquor you like)
With your hands shape marble-size balls (any size, really) and roll them in plain cocoa powder (Dutch-processed) or in a mix of cocoa powder and powdered confectioner's sugar.
I myself like these balls not sweet. The marzipan already contains enough sugar for my taste. If you like your treats sweeter like most the local natives, you may want to add anywhere from 0.5 to one cup of crystal sugar to the above mix. Then you'll have to add more syrup to make it properly sticky.
