Hey all,

I will be driving to Boston tomorrow to see a friend of mine and will be returning back Monday.

My friend is new in the area so am I. I have found a couple of places to visit but would like to ask the local BITOG members of any places they can recommend.

I will be staying in Bedford and my friend is in Malden if that helps.

Thanks!

Depends on what you want to see.

Stop off in Target in Dorchester for some Pizza Hut Express and whatever else you could possibly want, from Target. Exit 16 on 93. There is a Best Buy there too, it is South Bay Shopping Center or something like that. The Boston exits take you towards Government Center, that's exiit 23 and such. It's been a long time, I forget a lot after that.

Again, you ask a very general question.. what do you want to see in Beantown?

Slow down in Connecticut.

Is there anything in particular that you'd like to see?

There's always the USS Constitution in Boston, Faneiul Hall, Quincy Market, Museum of Science, New England Aquarium, etc.

Thanks for the advice. I checked Google Maps and I will not drive through Connecticut. If I go there I'll definitely slow down. I'll be passing Pennsylvania, New York and then Massachusetts. And sorry about my general question. This is my first time asking a question like this.

I like sightseeing and walking around the city. I hope the weather is nice in order to go out.

I have saved all these places and more and hopefully I can visit them during the time I have. To clarify, I like the places you mentioned and anything similar.

You're taking the Northern Route to Boston?
This time of year?

I hope you have good snow tires, as the weather can be unpredictable through that section of the country, to put it mildly.

BC.

Don't be afraid of the "T", the subway in Boston. It's a good way to get around. The street layout is old school, not a grid.

Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, and the aquarium are all close together. There's also the Freedom Trail, it'll go by the Old North Church and the USS Constitution.

The Museum of Science and Boston Garden are fairly close but the T is the quickest way to get from one to the other, Green Line.

It should be in the mid 50's Saturday and Sunday here.

Enjoy!

Are you going on I90 through NY? That's a toll road.

Also, if you are going through NY on I-90, bring your anti-depressants, because the Mohawk Valley (Utica - Albany) is one of the most depressing and depressed areas in the country.

Lots of great walking around if weather is nice.

So much to see. Little Italy is nice for pastry or quick bite to eat. USS Constitution is great.

Legal seafood? I found it to be a good restaurant dont know what the locals think. Check out CHEERS, pretty nice. Alot of things to do see and eat. Fire & Ice is not bad for brunch. Have fun! Fun city

It's going to be a busy weekend in Boston. It's the Boston marathon weekend I think Sunday morning. A lot of roads may be closed in the downtown area.

Marathon is Monday. The finish line area and route gets closed off sometime Sunday (I think). If you're in Malden, take the T downtown.

Boston is very compressed so all attractions are close to each other. Good walking city. Weather should be nicer on the weekend, Friday: not so much.

Rude and arrogant wait staff. Pretty mediocre seafood that is way over priced. Will never go back.

Ground is bare and temps in the 50's & 60's. No need to fear the weather.

Stay Monday see Red Sox and marathon goes by right outside Fenway on comm ave, enjoy the day go home Tuesday. Have a great time.

I'd bet that game sold out by Christmas!

If not...don't fear the bleachers. They're not bad seats! Avoid the RF grandstand...it's like the bleachers, but a different color and twice the cost!

You want the Kenmore Square stop on the T's Green Line for Fenway Park.

A 'Must See' is the John F. Kennedy Library.
A 'Must Eat' dining spot is called Legal Seafood.
