VW in their manuals used to say let it drain til it is dripping at rate of one drop every 20 seconds
That is crazy. When I change the oil in my E30, I've never been able to wait long enough for it to drip that slowly. I use a thicker oil (GTX 20w50, then Mobil 1 15w50). If I wait 30 minutes after pulling the drain plug, it still drips at a rate of about once every 4-5 seconds.quote:

Crawl under car, remove drain plug change filter. (I am now dirty from being under car and oil on hands) Wash hands clean up go to bed. Get up the next morning crawl back under car to install drain plug and remove oil pan. Install new oil. (Guess what, dirty hands and clothes again) That is what I meant.quote:
