Drain Plug Magnet Pics-Amsoil ACD

Unfortunately this is the first time I've taken pics of the plug with the particles attached, so I must go on memory which can only differentiate large differences. My memory says: no large differences from those I've seen before. I'm sure there were differences but I can't say anymore than that.

I do save all of the paper towel wipings and I'm going to compare this one to past ones, in person. Here is a past one which I believe was from M1 0W-40 used for similar mileage interval (I could verify that if the Search function worked right now): http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h294/groftja/DSC02429.jpg
Unfortunately, how it's wiped off effects our perception of how much debris there is. Do your best with your perception! Let me know what you think...compare with last photo in my first post.

I should mention that I did not change the oil filter so I didn't collect magnet catchings from the magnet that I put INSIDE the filter (MagnaGuard brand). This one catches more than the drain plug magnet because it's bigger. Too bad I missed out on that data to compare to the past.

I also have a FilterMag that goes on the OUTSIDE of the filter. I could not get data from that this time either. One time I did cut open the filter and saw that those magnets pick up some more than either of the other two magnets. It was freaky to see the particles and they were very gritty when I rubbed them with the flat of my fingernail. Very abrasive! The oil used was Lubromoly 0W-40 FWIW (not great IMO). It looked similar to what's shown on their website:

Guess I would ask history. The 1.8 has sluging problems. So how many miles, did you buy it new, oil change history etc.

That's nothing compared to the stuff the drain plug on my 3.1L GM V6 accumulated after 35k miles on Esso XD-3 0W-30. :)

I think a gallery of images would be in order. We could have a poll to award "Best of Show" badges of horror.
