Dragging bumper cover on the interstate

I saw this a few weeks ago near Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

How do you not know, or if you know then why did they not stop? Sometimes I really wonder if people are paying attention.

My sister-in-law’s friend was hit in a parking garage, nearly ripping the bumper off. They waited for FIVE HOURS for a tow truck to arrive.

I would have OP’d that bad boy home!

I can almost guarantee you that they just side swiped a car a few miles down the road so they don’t wanna risk stopping.

You've got no idea what kind of junk people in Cedar Rapids Iowa drive! 🤣 They either simply do not care or they are so high on drugs nothing matters.

Didn’t look like a junk car to me! Driving pretty good for a drunk or high person, even used a turn signal. Hit and run is my guess still.

I did something similar years ago, LOL. I was gingerly driving my ratty workplace pickup truck down a 50mph stretch and noticed a jogger stop alongside the road and give me the strangest look. *** was HIS problem. When I stopped a mile up the road at a stop sign, I noticed that the tailgate had fallen off and I was dragging it behind me, attached by one of the side cables that limits opening angle.

I was shocked how little damage occurred to the tailgate. I popped it back on, looked to see if anyone else noticed my boo boo, and quickly sped away!

It really could be any of the reasons mentioned here. Some people just have a different tolerance level.

I remember one time I heard a very loud plastic scraping noise as I was closing the gate at work and looked up to see a newer Malibu cruising along at 50+ MPH with some sort of undercover in the front dragging all over the road. I've had small sticks get lodged in my truck's suspension before and just that noise drives me crazy. There's no way the driver didn't notice. People have their reasons though.

One thing that blows my mind are suspension/axle problems that people will drive on. I got stuck behind a Wrangler that was all over the road and going about 20 tops. When he finally made a turn I could see one of the front control arms seemed completely disconnected from the frame! Another crazy one was a Crown Vic with some sort of rear axle failure. I could see one wheel/axle shaft moving around as they were going straight on a 50 MPH road, and when the car turned it shifted about 6" out of place. It was like the c-clip broke or something. I do think the Crown Vic driver was trying to find a place where they wouldn't be towed, but at that point you just need to get to the first safe spot.

Nope sorry. People in Cedar Rapids drive around with plastic bags for windows that need replaced, cars falling apart, car accidents almost daily yeah unless you have lived here you've not a clue.
