Running a six second car. My question is would running synthetic help? The transmission never gets above 280 degrees. We are trying to gain advantages. I'm wondering if anyone knows a good fluid for drag racing. Right now we are running a local guys blend.

Running a 6 second car is serious business, Yikes !!!. What are your competetors running? Sorry the question as well as the answer is certainly out of my league as I could nly regurgitate advertising claims.

High Performance Lubricants "Green" ATF would be an excellent fit for you. It's used a lot of the X275 and Outlaw Radial cars, and I use it in my tow rig. I use their racing Type F in my TH350. Call Mary Jane at Advanced Lubrication at 815-932-3288 to order. It comes in 12 quart cases, 4 gallon cases, or 5 gallon pails. The one in the top left.

From what I've heard, the powerglide isn't really picky. A lot of folks that I know with that trans are running Type F, and although they aren't anywhere near the 6's, I can't imagine it'd be that much different.

Call Dave at Redline and talk through your options with him
Call whoever it is at Scaheffers and do the same.

Buy both and compare times using one vs. the other.

Thank you everyone.

Called Redline and Scaheffers they were very helpful. We are going to run redline racing type f for the next race and see what happens.
