Donated blood

My total to date is 132 donations. Its a way of helping others
that just takes about an hour of my time. On average I donate
about 4-5 times a year.

I donate every 8 weeks. Work has regular blood drives with the Red Cross. I have no idea how much but I'm sure I've given gallons.

BTW: According to the Mayo Clinic, donating a pint of blood consumes about 650 calories!!! Now go have that ice cream.

Donatng concentrated red cells is weird because they hook you to a small centrifuge that spins out the red cells and pumps the clarified blood back into your arm. The blood cools maybe a degree or two as it is being spun down so the cool blood going back in feels really really weird.
