I've searched far and wide even using oil filter cross reference website and clicking the alternative (wix 51036) filter that has a ton of alternatives. I was hoping to get a solid recommendation to replace my Amsoil eao23 that's coming off soon. I am disappointed with Amsoil filter QC recently and have decided they aren't what they used to be (ahem...WIX/MH!). I have also searched the Donaldson website using the attribute search for their automated recommendations and have only seen P550051 recommended (99% efficient at 45 microns). Is this the best I can hope for? TIA.

Bud...I used to be this way and it honestly feels like losing a beloved pet.

I had some glue on the clean side of one of their cartridge style filters (15k04 specifically). I emailed...it was a whole thing.
Get the NAPA equivalent Oil Filter, the only Donaldson Oil Filter that is the best of the best is the blue media 1

The Napa Oil Filter is a 1056

@gasman556

why not just use a PF52?
I've never used any AC delco stuff. Is it good? I am coming from Motorcraft where getting OEM filters was a "NO GO" and am assuming all domestic OEM filters are equally trash.

I am looking for a Donaldson blue/synteq/whatever is their top tier filter media for this application (if even possible), but can't find it.

You think Napa gold 1056 is a solid choice? I used to use them without a second thought, but when they changed from Wix to PG I got weary (wrongly).

Here is the issue with Donaldson, they only offer the best oil filter media, meaning the Blue stuff in only a few oil filters. Donaldson then turns around and sells other oil filters that do not have the Blue Media. I have read that this Blue Media is 99% at like 17 Microns.

The Napa Gold 1056 is your best option.

I think off the shelf, the AC Delco are one of the best you can buy, IMO. I would and have used with confidence. PF52 or the champion equal........

OK, good to know! Is the AC Delco line of filters suspect for any sort of bypass issues, torn media, excessive glue, etc?

Not that i am aware of. I have observed many, cut open after use, and never saw a flaw.......seen a bunch of debris, but never a flaw....good luck.

The PG made filter is better than the Mann-Hummel made NAPA filters.

PG filter better than Amsoil and ACDelco.
If you have an oreilly's auto try Microgard Select. Also the Purolator Boss still good filter if you want a WIX alternative with "smartfusion" reinforced media.

Think the OP is looking for an efficiency to be better than what the Boss or Wix XP would give.
