does supertech HM condition seals

I don't know if that has been covered so I may be a day late and a dollar short asking this question. But does anyone know if the supertech HM oils have as strong of a seal conditioner as any of the name brand stuff? I have had good luck with Maxlife stopping weeping seals on old trucks and I'm curious if the supertech HM stuff competes as well in the seal swelling area? As an oil running modest oil change intervals I trust supertech and know its a quality product. I'm focusing just on the seal conditioners. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

I had a RMS weep on the 02 Wrangler stopped on one OCI with Pennzoil HM 10W-30 conventional. Decided to try Supertech FS 5W-30 HM and it came back in 1000 miles. Dumped it early and put the Pennzoil back in and it's almost dried up again. May be a Jeep thing who knows.
Thanks that's good info. I appreciate it!

The Jeep thing is the RMS always weeps on 4.0s.

Your crazy, that wasn't a oil leak;merely sweat from all that horsepower 😂

Look at oxidation values, I think M1 EP HM was actually one of the better ones but has lower hths then say Valvoline EP HM which had a very slightly lower sealer value but higher hths.
You could try whatever high mileage oil you like and add a pint of Schaeffer's Moly EP 132 and that might keep in from getting out, or a non hm with Liquimoly Motor Oil Saver every 20ish thousand miles.

Thanks for the replies. I have a 1993 Chevy K1500 that will bead a little oil on the bell housing. High mileage oil usually takes care of it but with prices going up on everything I thought about going supertech or another warren blended HM. I just was interested in how effective it was. But honestly walmart isn't keeping their supertech brand prices low enough IMO. Not enough to pull people away from the top brands.

The only real way to tell is to use it results vary from person to person with any high mileage oil.

Me personally I use Mobil 1 Full Synthetic High Mileage and while my 4.3 has some seepage it never leaks on the driveway and I never lose any measurable amount of oil so I call that a win, worth the $24.

You could also consider AT-205 Reseal, look up reviews, read up on it and look into the success stories there is a lot of people using it successfully, come to your own conclusion but me personally if I chose to use it I would only use half of the recommended amount and when the leak stops I would change the oil and get it out of the system and continue using a high mileage oil.

That’s a good idea. I know that at-205 reseal works but I’ve been concerned it would over soften. Makes sense to let it soften up then get it out and let HM keep it soft

That is my concern of not draining it out and leaving it in long term is the possibility of over-swelling but ATP Automotive claims AT-205 Reseal will not do that because it does not contain petroleum distillates which is responsible for over-swelling and breaking down seals they use polymers instead.

But my personal opinion is use it, stop the leak, drain it if I needed it, other people have to come to their own decision.

SuperTech HM 5/10w-30 did nothing for my weepy RMS on my 98 K1500.

Ran a OCI of Castrol GTX HM (blend) 10w-40 and that essentially resolved the leak. Now running the Valvoline MaxLife HM (blend) 10w-40 and that continues to keep it happy.

Both of those, in any available viscosity, are only $20 for a 5 quart jug.

Thanks! You’re right. I think supertech is like 18 for their HM now. 2 dollars more and get something that works in your case. I think if supertech wants to play in the same price range they need to give a stronger shot of seal conditioners

Kirkland Signature now has HM oils, and they are much cheaper when on sale.
