So im taking my car on a 8 hour road trip one way. Im planning on doing a Techron dosage since it hasent been done in a while. Should i change the oil after i get back from my trip??? will it contaminate the oil? or do i not need to change it.

I wouldn't be dumping anything other than gas into your gas tank.

No. The oil does not need changed after running Techron.

Techron is one of the few adds that in the past have not appeared to invoke soft metal wear. At least this used to be the case...

Given the distance, your engine will be hot, oil will be hot, I dont see a lot of chance for tons of solvent to get in the oil and bearings. I wouldnt worry about it personally...

Techron is in Chevron fuels (although in lower levels),and you dont have to change the oil everytime you fill up.

No need to change oil after Techron. It works in the fuel and cleans up deposits. what it burns off will go out the exhaust.

Yup!

I recommend using Techron a full tank before or after the trip, not during the drive. It is supposed to work best when combined with short trips in order to give the PEA cleaners time to soak, from what I remember.

The school of thought many on this site subscribe to is that you should run those PEA-rich cleaners towards the end of an oil change interval. The thinking is that if it loosens any crud, you want to minimize the amount of time that is contaminating the oil.

That's my habit, being OCD and paranoid. Actually, it's probably not that big a deal.

Generally speaking, there is no need to change the oil when using injector cleaner in the fuel tank.

The exception (when a LOF is needed) is that solutions applied through the brake booster into the air induction system ... seem to overwhelm the intake ports / combustion chamber in order to clean it out and a significant portion of debris is washed past the piston rings and into the oil.
