Does lube actually stick to brake pad contact points?

These look like grease marks to me.

There is never going to be the same amount and color of grease as you put it. It gets worked around and squeezed out and of course it will attract brake dust and look like dirt in the end.

The outlined "crust" is mostly dirt. The actual shim is bone dry.
 
no matter what I’ve used it eventually washes away. I just did my 21 this summer and used Sil glyde ceramic silicone and there’s still some blue on the ears after may car washes. I’m more concerned about the pins than I am the hardware itself.
