Does anyone have the old Fram Sure Drain catalog?

When I was in Canadian Tire yesterday I noticed they've still got a few of the discontinued Fram Sure Drains there. I wanted to buy one for the 2005 Corvette that I am planning on getting in two or three years, but their catalog was missing a bunch of pages so I don't know what part number I need.

I was wondering if anyone still has this catalog, or a link online to the list of what part numbers go with what engines?

Nevermind, I dug up a very old topic on Corvetteforum and found out that it needs the SD4. They don't have that one in stock.

When I get the C6 I guess I'll go for a Fumoto this time around (not sure where to get them in Canada though, so I'll probably need to mail order it)

Are there equivelents out there that work just as well (I'm assuming they work well)

I was able to find an online x-reference about a year ago when I found a SD in my garage, it was a pdf file from a site selling the SD. Search and you shall find, it was not easy, if I have time later I will do it for you.

That's a pretty solid looking drain valve. The manufacturer endorsements are a definitite bonus.

I assume that it takes a bit of effort to release the lock on it so that it will turn (i.e. a stone hitting the lever would not unlock the valve)?

The site says that international shipping uses "Global Priority Mail" which is USPS -> Canada Post.

If they used UPS, then you pay out the wazoo for brokerage fees, but with USPS shipping you usually don't pay anything.

I ordered window vents for my HHR last month. They were shipped USPS airmail and I never paid any extra fees when it got here.

I found the SD4 in stock at another Canadian Tire yesterday! I could not remember for sure if that was the one I needed though, so I didn't buy it. I'm sure it'll still be there next week when I'm in the area again, so I'll pick it up then! Even though I won't be getting a C6 for a few more years, I want to be prepared so that when I do get one, I can do it's first oil change the same day I get it, and slap on the Sure Drain! I like these units, they make sampling real easy.

I think most GM recent engines take the SD4. They fit my S10, but I can't remember the thread pattern, maybe M18X1.5. Most of the Japanese imports seem to take the SD3, I know both Nissan and Toyota do anyhow, M12X1.25 thread.

Others having a hard time tracking down the right sure drain can do an online search for your drain pan bolt on Napaonline or some other site. It will tell you the bolt size and thread pitch.

Next match up the bolt size and thread pitch with the one printed on the sure drain box. That's how I did it for my dad's 06 Toyota tacoma when it wasn't listed in the sure drain book.
