Is there a dual filter mount that can be used for a bypass where one half could be used for the engine oil and the other end can be used for the transmission? This would be a great thing for vehicles with limited space or mounting locations.

I suppose if you plug it somehow in the center of both channels and then use each w side port separetely ( perma cool dual remote)

a copper plug..maybe...heat the dual remote and then cool the plug..press it in and you will have a tight fit when the temps become one. Get 2 single remote setups..they are small and you can mount them side by side someplace.

I know I could take two singles make a mounting plate and mount side by side but I think it would make a cleaner looking setup using a dual mount. A plug in the center of the ports was my first thought but the one but I could not see a way to make absolutely sure of a positive seal. I was hoping some where it had already been done and not have to reinvent the wheel so to speak.

A brass plug I would think would be best. I am sure lots of guys here are totally qualified for this. Maybe they will give some advice.

I would try to machine a plug that fits when its ice cold and the mount is nice and hot, then press it in. That's the only way imo you would get a nice positive seal. Make the cylinder 3/4 iches long so when pressed it remains straight. make a wooden plug and do some test fits with a dual remote setup. Perma Cool mounts are very reasonably priced.

I think you should go for 2 singles and then put them in different areas where they can be squeezed in.

There's a tremendous pressure differential between the two (proposed) chambers. I've pondered this for a bit. Sealers, epoxies, plugs

The "cold welding" method that Trucku mentions is a viable technique. I would just be leery of the aluminum casting having issues with two objects attempting to occupy the same place at the same time. The mounts aren't the highest grade of casting.

However (lightbulb went off) ..there are aluminum solders/welding rods that can be applied to an aluminum plug that are effective without the mig/tig type setup (uses a propane torch) that might work for you. You can then apply something like Aviation Permatex to assure a good seal. Nothing leaks past that stuff. If you can just anchor the plug ..the Permatex should seal it well enough.

The Home Depot has this stuff ..but the net offers some price options. Just put aluminum solder into google and shop around. Prices vary with quantity a decent amount.

Your right Gary Allan, the casting of the perma cool unit, is not the best of quality/finish.

Gary Allan, in the event of a failure and the mixing of oils I wonder which sump will fill the other? Does the transmission or the engine oil pump operate at a higher pressure?

Maybe the installation of 2 pressure gauges would be a good idea. The differential in pressures will give you a visual reference.

I would think a failure at highway speed and higher fluid pressures could spell some kinda engine disaster. The lease it would be unhealthy for whatever sump gets overfilled, not to mention the 2 fluids mixing and in the wrong work area.

I would venture that the engine oil would end up in the trans. The cooler lines are typically low pressure.

It's a sorta neat idea to play with. Two single mounts take up about the same room. The only advantage to one casting is that if you were to mount it with a larger "L" bracket ..where the long side of the dual mount was perpendicular to the mounting surface, you would save some sheet metal space.

I was unable to find space for my dual remote setup in the engine bay. It is installed on the right side of the truck right behind the bumper and before the wheel. All I have to do is kneel down and reach under to change filters.

Tracker8 would have to contend with 2 sets of lines to manipulate around the dual remote to tranny and engine. I think your best option is 2 single spin on mounts.
