Today I changed the front and rear differential fluid in the Durango. I didn't mean to let the fluid go 96,000 miles. It took 6 years to put that many miles on the odometer. The fluid was Super Tech 75w-90. HPL Petty GMS transaxle fluid went back in and I will leave it there for another 100k miles. The Petty GMS fluid is the same fluid that runs around the NASCAR track.

This is what it looked like:

Some people with different vehicles are going to interpret ur results as no need to do recommended differential/transfer case fluid maintenance. Taking it as ‘Gospel’.

Confirmation bias: anti-maintenance hypochondriacs. Lol

I swapped the OE diff. & T-case fluids on the wife's 2018 Durango at 79,492 miles and it was still very clean as well. Installed 75w85 & D6 Redline oils. I'll do it again around 160k-180k.

Now for my sister-in-laws 2019, it went 206,070 miles on the OE diff. & T-case fluids when I had changed them (7/2024) Surprisingly it didn't look bad, the Durango must be easy on the differentials. Some FS 75w90 generic brand & D6 went back in because that's what I had on the shelf.
