Do you use chemicals on your lawn?

How about you guys? Serious about lawn care? Let others do it? Let it go natural?

Do you have pets such as cat(s) and/or dog(s)?

An estimated 25% of all dogs under the age of 10 die of cancer and 50% of all dogs over 10 years of age will die of cancer. There have been many excellent studies that link the use of lawn chemicals to cancer, such as one published by Dr. Larry Glickman (https://bit.ly/2JKa809), Veterinarian and Epidemiologist at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine (https://bit.ly/2FHbxk5).

My strong feelings are the food you fed your pet is the major cause of illness.
People feed their dogs/cat processed garbage everyday of their life, FULL of cancer causing agents.
Im not sure why, people food, fruits, veges, chicken, fish cost less then premium dog food.

We do a mix off all the above.

If one has the time, energy, money and water you can get your lawn very healthy and weeds have a tough time growing. Then the few weeds that are found can be pulled by hand.

+1

I feel the same way. Traditional dog food is absolute garbage. Full of bulking agents and fillers in the way of grains, and to a lesser extant, potatoes. A dog is a carnivore. Their digestive systems are not very well equipped to handle grains or even fruits or vegetables. Not to say they couldn't get some nutrients from fruits or veggies, it's just simply not optimal. They are designed to extract nutrients from remains of other animals. Muscle meat, fat, organs, and bones (raw, of course) are what they would eat in the wild and what their systems are optimally designed to extract nutrients from. It really is no wonder so many of them are overweight and die of cancer, IMO.

A little more to the point, I do think chemicals on the lawn could contribute also, but their exposure to garbage "food" every day of their lives has an astronomically larger impact on their health.
