Do you have "brand loyalty"??? e.g., Purchased the same make of vehicle your entire adult life?

Are you aware that Mazda is bringing in an inline 6 in the CX-90?

That’s not a car, that’s an SUV. Since I already have a 4x4 truck I want my other vehicle to be a car. The 3 is the only car Mazda sells in the US and it's too small for me.

I used to but opened up my horizon a bit. I used to be Toyota and Ford only. Now both of those brands are junk in more than one way. So I’m swinging more to the Subaru, Mitsubishi maybe Honda side of things. Won’t go near modern GM products or anything modern Volkswagen, fancy brands like BMW, Porsche whatever I’m still bias against but for basic brand cars I’ve become less biased.

I’ve always been a GM and Ford guy. I’ve owned approx 15 GMs, approx 10 Fords, 1 Dodge because it was given to me for free, and 1 Nissan for about two weeks.

However, one of the vehicles that interests me is a Volvo EX30. I’ll be cross shopping the Equinox EV and EX30 next year maybe. It’s going to be an interesting decision. I would usually never ever touch a Volvo but I think it’s a cute, sensible vehicle and will give the Equinox EV real competition. Once both are available it’ll be so interesting to test them out and see how they compare.

I’m 44 and my wife 43. We’ve been blessed to purchase new vehicles our entire lives, consisting of:
1997 Ford Escort
2000 Ford Focus
2003 Toyota Corolla
2004 Chevy Silverado
2007 Subaru Legacy
2007 Toyota Sienna
2011 Ford F150
2016 Toyota RAV4
2018 Ford F150
2023 Toyota Tundra
2023 Toyota Corolla

I’m 36 and I’ve only owned 2 cars. I bought a used 2001 Saturn and my 2011 Mazda 6 was bought new. The Buick I inherited through marriage to my wife. She will only drive GM. Next new vehicle I buy will likely be a GM, since my wife has multiple family members who works for GM and that means we can get employee discounts. I’m hoping to keep my Mazda for many more years as long as parts are available.

I have owned:
Ford
Volkswagen
Mazda
Cadillac
Chevrolet
Mercury
Chrysler
Kia
Hyundai

I will buy anything that I think is good although lately Hyundai. Maybe an Audi suv one day.

I generally do a bunch of research before I buy a car. I don't have much in the way of brand loyalty, although Hyundai is off of my list for a while because of their engine, steering, electrical, and anti-theft issues for the last few years. Seems like they are cutting too many corners.

Might not be as cool as we think. It has timings chains on the back of the engine and more….

Holy cow, it just kept getting worse and worse. I’m not in the market for an SUV but I certainly don’t want one of those. I stopped watching at about 10 minutes. If I should happen to decide I want an SUV I’ll take the 2.5L Skyactiv.

I was really pleased that Mazda still supported our '97 MPV as late as the end of 2018 when we finally retired it.

Guessing you graduated from the U of S in 2000? Saskatoon?

FWIW what I really have is an anti-loyalty list. I definitely won’t be buying a Chrysler, GM, Hyundai or Kia. Probably won’t be buying anything European either, but that’s partially because of high cost.

Yes, my dad drove nothing but Ford's, hence I drove nothing but Fords (with one GM in the mix, which was excellent). Until I had 2 lemons in a row - so no more Ford's.

I have since had a Jeep, Suzuki, 2 Nissan's and a Toyota. I think I would own anything - other than a Ford built after about 1995.

I do not. For daily drivers I have owned; Pontiac, Buick, GMC, Chevrolet, Dodge, VW, Toyota, Mazda. For muscle cars I have owned; Pontiac, Buick, Chevrolet, Ford and I look forward to perhaps one day having an old Mopar.

Current considerations if the Tacoma reaches end of life before me are a Ford F150 or a Chevrolet Silverado. It will come down to price, dealer deal etc.

Well, I used to say the only car I would ever buy was a Pontiac.
Been through my share, have had great luck with Hondas and Toyota pickups. The 4 Corvettes were fun; I would love to have my '66 Midnight Blue GOAT or the silver on black '73 Firechicken with the '69 400 96 heads.

For my current use case, I am Tesla brand loyal.
