Do you have a favorite fuel?

My favorite fuel..... some of you of a certain age group know exactly what this smells like, before and after its burned.

Don't have that much experience with flyable model aircraft, but I do remember as a kid going to a sleep away summer camp where one of the camp staff was working on a plane. He was taking a while to do it and was talking about whether or not he'd install an engine or just use rubber bands to hold the propellers in place as a more or less static model. But the thing that us kids found hilarious was that he was painting it with "fuel proof dope".

Exxon gas. It's Top Tier fuel and it's right beside my work. I also save a little money on rewards and their prices are comparable with other stations in town.

The only time I don't use it is when I buy ethanol-free gas for my OPE. I get that at a local BP station.

Sunoco 98 in the 5 gallon for the race bikes about $118 a can

When in Oklahoma Phillips 66 . 87 octane 10% ethanol

When in Colorado/New Mexico Sinclair . 84 octane

The Dakotas Cenex

As I work my way out west Chevron the cheapest at the pump no matter the octane

Washington State Tesoro

Lately, it seems it is either ExxonMobil or Shell gasoline and diesel.

A local food market has Mobil fuel pumps, and 93 octane there is consistently at least 30 cents a gallon cheaper than any other station in the area. So it has become my favorite fuel for the Corvette.

Since Dad owned an ESSO Station from '55-'79 (changed to Exxon in the U.S. in '72), I have a soft spot for Exxon(now Exxon/Mobil).
From the time that Dad retired, we all just used anything close to home that was the cheapest price and of course, we'd use any brand of fuel when out on the open road.

For myself, I have used HESS for many years(since the '80s) and then SpeedWay(mid 2000s).
Now these same stations(previously HESS & SpeedWay) are now Exxon/Mobil stations. And I have to say that over the past couple of years, my fuel economy is slight better consistently from tank to tank with the same vehicle. So, I am happy again!

QT as much as possible. 89 octane with a dash of 87e0. Like to keep it under 8% ethanol so I try and get a couple of gallons in.

BJs wholesale almost exclusively, for the price. Although if I can find E85 while traveling, I'll use that. The truck loves it!

Costco 93. Top tier fuel and less than 3 blocks from where I work. It we are on a road trip and a Costco is out of the way, I make it a point to try to use Shell 93.

in texas HEB gas is usually budget priced and runs aight. the pumps r usually nice.

I do like the exxon synergy drive though, 87 octane. i feel like there is less hesitation on sudden acceleration and i get about 1 mpg better on long trips.

but maybe its cuz i pretend like its dragon synergy and we drive fancy...

Didn't until a about a year ago.
Now it's mostly Valero .
Downloaded the Valero Gas app and it's given me the most returns/discounts on fuel.
Minimum of 10c off a gallon but up to 50c off a gallon at times.

Only car I’ve ever noticed a difference in was my ‘02 Cavalier ram noticeable better on Petro-Canada fuel and oils, tried to run them as much as I could.
These days, it’s all about the points - currently, I go to Mobil/Esso mostly bc I get ‘optimum’ points that can be used on fuel, car washes, or at my ‘favourite’ drug store, Shoppers Drug Mart.
However, recently, the company I work for, Canadian Tire, has paired up with Petro-Canada to supply their fuel, and they are twinning their points system for a 2-for-1 deal getting both CT points and Petro points…once this is official May go back to CT fuel knowing it is P-C gas.
I used to fuel at CT and collect points there, but CT gas stations are always crowded and harder to get in and out of bc of how popular they are up here.

I used to have a favorite when Amoco Ultimate existed. Now I favor Exxon 89 & 93 for top-tier and convenience (location, app & rewards).

First choice is Chevron. Top Tier. My only gripe is Chevron is somewhat regional, only in the West.

Second choice is Costco. Also Top Tier, and usually the cheapest price in the area.

Third choice is Shell. Also Top Tier.

really don't have much choice. QT's are using Phillips 66 in this area. Along with lots of Phillips stations. 2 BP's. 1 Shell, Casey's and HyVee who source their fuel in Iowa.

Used to be Costco until the lines to fill up got so long. Now I just run down to Buc-ee's and get a car wash at the same time.
