Racism and elitism are not explicitly prohibited in BITOG hence the overabundance of it.

As for conservative v. progressive... Conservatives openly embrace racism and elitism as a pivot for their ideology and that's the reason that it seems that this forum is conservative.

Yep...very true. I wouldn't be surprised that someday the 1st Amendment will be lobotomized so that those that don't concur with status quo can be detained or simply arrested.

As for this site? They make the rules...we are obliged to try to stick to them or face the consequences.

As a side note...I think one of the main reasons threads get closed is not so much the content (as both sides of the political spectrums are often heard without the threads being shut down), but typically a few of our members get so worked up that they demand to the moderators that the thread be closed. Usually, these folks that make those demands stem from a certain political group.

For this site, I think it would be a good idea to provide a political forum...but then be very firm about not allowing political discussions in other forums on the site. It should be more heavily policed in the non-political areas of this website...and then just allow those wanting to endlessly argue politics a political forum to express themselves more fully and without recourse (within reason/rules of course).

Just my opinion.

Whaaaaaat? The media loves the Trump/Carson thing because the media loves drama. Anything those two say gets repeated because of its innate awesomeness. Bernie/Hillary don't get nearly the airtime, because they aren't showmen.

Media generally rips on the incumbent to the benefit of the challenger, because it creates a sense of purpose for itself. Why they "hated" GWB.

Isn't that so pitiful that this sort of thing is actually believed and/or espoused as fact?
It's incredible to me that conservatives even win elections. The power and control of massive amounts of media bias as well as Hollywood and it's plethora of idolized actors spewing the same rhetoric day after day...it's incredible that progressives (they like to be called that now) don't rule everything under the sun.

The last thing this place needs is a political sub-forum. If you want to talk politics, go elsewhere. There are plenty of other sites out there where you can take sides, cheer for your favorite team, and rip on anyone who doesn't share your views. BITOG doesn't need it, and the mods don't need the headache.
