No not at all Leaky. Techron, Redline SI-1 and other PEA based cleaners are very beneficial at keeping ethanol problems away and keeping the injectors flowing properly. Good stuff.

Do you have high sulfur or otherwise cruddy fuel where you are at?
The dealer may know from experience that injectors need cleaning more often than normal.
They do not know that you keep yours clean very well. Most people don't.
Are they holding the 'race card' warranty thing over your head?

Had a word with the service manager today and to clarify, the fuel injector cleaning was an add-on service because the fuel filter was being replaced. Turns out it's an optional service and you don't have to go for it, and it isn't mentioned in the Middle East/North Africa service supplement either.
Replacement of the fuel filter, however, is because of the high levels of sulfur in the gas. They were surprised to see someone actually paying $3.48 a gallon for Euro V gas with a sulfur content of 10 ppm.
The guy who phoned me simply gets a commission based on how much the customer spends on service fees. He obviously wanted me to pay more so he could get a higher commission.

Here's what came out of the factory fuel filter with 18,650 miles on it:
So much for paying $3.48/gallon. If this is with the imported stuff from Europe, Heaven only knows what the local stuff is like. I'm guessing they're not cleaning the tanks.
Going to change the fuel filter every 6,000 miles from now on. Unlike my Grand Marquis and Montero, changing the fuel filter's a bit of a PITA on the Explorer. Not even sure if the CC has a fuel filter, best check that.

If there is that much muck at under 20K, than a 6-10 k R+R seems wise to me.
