i have been out of the rat race for a few years now. been cleaning stuff in the house . found a couple of old brief cases . i wonder these days do folks still use them? seems like everyone runs a backpack

We have a VP that does, if he goes to meet potential clients. Some trial lawyers I work with do too. Seems more like if it's for a very big suit and tie formality, there's more chances there will be suitcases.

Never owned a briefcase. I think they died with the laptop. My boss used to carry one. Even he dumped his at least 10 years ago.

I would bet money in another 10 years they will be vintage and they will want a small fortune for any that are left. :ROFLMAO:

Not since I started carrying a laptop with regularity

In 99 or so I switched

The shoulder carried computer bag, or small backpack is the new briefcase.

I doubt you will see back packs being used by high management in large companies and brief cases being used instead.

You actually do when you travel for business.

See that in the corner against the table ?

This is me (CEO) smirking at my VP Sales, across from my Japenese CEO counterparts at a launch event this week at the US Embassy in Tokyo.

Saw plenty of backpacks on lots of high powered business people this week.

Leaves two hands free when traveling through buildings for work and events like from the business center to the residence..

Maybe his lunch?

When I have to pack precision instrument inside a special carrier case yes, but that's not a real suitcase though.

Backpack lets me have 2 hands available for other stuff, like badges, phones, groceries, car door, etc. Suitcase is a waste of my hand for nothing.

They are in the attic - hard-case and open top …
I use a larger backpack when flying (only carry-on) and a smaller (nicer) bp between hotel and office.

I work with CEO’s, CFO’s and VP’s all the time and backpacks are common. And I’ll add it, if suits or jackets are seen it is not uncommon to see no ties in the room. People are generally more casually dressed nowadays.
