Do I Have Crud in my Gas Tank?

I have a 1999 Chevy S10 that I basically drive in snow and to take out the trash or when I need to haul something. The truck only sees between 3000 and 4000 miles per year. Lately every time I fill the tank it will hesitate when I am taking off from the pumps and for a few hours afterward when I accelerate from a stop. The truck starts fine and runs fine as long as there's no acceleration. I replaced the fuel filter less than a year and a half ago so it's safe to say it has less than 6000 miles on it. Do I have some kind of crud in my gas tank that is being stirred up when I fill up? How do I fix it if I do? Thanks in advance.

Lets not drop the tank, at least for now, how about trying a good fuel injection cleaner like Redline SI or Techron and then see what happens.

That's probably a good idea. I had some generic stuff and have used a bottle or two of it but it doesn't seem to help. Maybe a good name brand would help. Do you know if there is any kind of a drain plug on these tanks? If I could get it down to a few gallons I would just drain the sludge out of the bottom.

Try leaving your gas cap off and see how the truck responds... If it responds fine after you fill up you have a pressurized tank or evap problem.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. After a little research I don't believe I have a drain plug so I will try what has been suggested here and see if it helps.
