It is true that ester solvency is typically way higher than PAO and all the conventional oils. However, the differences among the latter are still enough to have caused somewhat of a varnish epidemic in the hydraulic fluid and gas turbine industry due to oils being "upgraded" by using higher Group # dino base oils. Even if less degradation products are created by the higher Group # dino base oils, their solvency for their own waste can be disproportionately less, resulting in more deposits.
