Crappy Purolator glue job. Try a Super Tech, Champ, or AC Delco next.
Tks, That's concerning. I've used many FL- 500s on my Fords. Might have to rethink this.
The glue or gluing process appears to be seriously wrong on these filters in the video. In the past I've read criticisms about the use of fiber endcaps but I believe they glue to the end of the media better by being a porous material like the media.
This "Bad Filter Go Round" seems recurrent. Who's turn to be worst will be next?

Looks like another reason for MC to switch to Champ as a filter manufacturer!
If the actual SOURCE is from the oil filter,
You can practically guarantee that it is entering the oiling system ...

I will never take seriously a supposed technical video with a crying emoji on the splash screen. 50/50 the whole thing is staged.
I don't believe much of what I see on the web. So I'll keep using MC filters until I actually see a reason to change since my long experience(a million plus miles) with MC has worked well for me. With that said no filter is beyond an occasional failure.
Motorcraft is changing the design and supplier of some of their filters, maybe driven by the failure record of some models.
That logic is only accurate if you don't follow data trends.....
- - - & the trend of Motorcraft filters has definitely been going down/worse....
Time to change.
My educated guess is that they will ditch Purolator and go with Champ Labs.
Seems to be what's currently happening.
I would change because you think I should??
