For many years, Illinois wouldn't call a Chevy Blazer a "Blazer".
The title and registration would refer to it as a Chevrolet "Utility".

Just wait until you get in the mess that I was in, where the state lists the wrong VIN number on a car title.... and then try to convince them that they made a mistake. We all know that any state's DMV *NEVER* makes any mistakes...
I even had a photocopy of a previous Illinois title that had the VIN listed correctly, but even that failed to convince them that someone had made a mistake. All they would have needed to done was looked at their archived image of the previous title. But not them. Remember, they didn't make a mistake.
After several weeks of having the DMV stonewall me, I finally contacted my state representative for help. Sadly enough, he wasn't surprised, and was able to make a few phone calls that magically helped push the process through the system.
And of course, they still wanted to charge me the $65 fee for a replacement title. No... not when it was their mistake.
