I have a 2 year old Whirlpool dishwasher that will not drain. I can hear the motor "kick in" when I press the Cancel/Drain button, but very little water drains out of it. It runs through the wash cycle without any issues until it is time to drain. Is there an obvious list of items I can enumerate through to attempt to fix this before calling a service technician?

either [censored] in the filter or something stuck in the pump.
Check those two, and at that age I'm guessing it should still be under warranty, but warranty wouldn't cover a blockage of any description.

Check and see if something like a bone, etc., is stuck in the pump by taking the hose off and also make sure that the flapper valve on the outside of the pump is not stuck.

You can lube it with some Silicone Spray and working the valve while spraying to free it up.

Make sure you shut off the power to it while working so we don't read about you in the morning paper!

That sounds just like ours several years ago.

When our Whirlpool dishwasher wouldn't drain it was because of a plugged air vent in the drain line. If you have a dishwasher drain line vent cover on or near your sink, pull the cover off it and clean it if you find any crud in it.

Gary, I used my Australian English dictionary in Firefox. It's a life saver.

Does Strife have an admission criteria that includes using certain words?? Is that how one "gets in" or "gets into" Strife??

Would it not be more appropriate to say, "One may get into Strife by using that word" ..or perhaps, "One can gain access to Strife using that word".

Is this of what you speak?
