Dishwasher on the fritz... stupid appliances

Well, I got the new part today and installed in about 20 minutes. I'm happy to report that the unit is back to good working order, I ran a cycle with no issues.

They even sent an extra thermo fuse so I have a backup, just in case.

My whirlpool dishwasher from 1983 still works to this day. Although everything else have been replaced several times.

Samsung is junk also. We got the full stainless blah blah.... Door control board died once. Main board 2 times. For the past year or more if you don’t use it often it will be dead. Buttons do nothing, no lights unless you disconnect power to reset. If you use it often like every 2-3 days it works fine. I got a wireless outlet controller from Amazon for when it acts up. Very common problem with no solution.

We had a Whirlpool made Kitchen Aid. It vented the hot moist air into the door where it played all sorts of havoc with the electronics. We learned to not use the heated dry which helped. After several repairs by me I got fed up with it and bought a Bosch. Works great except in the middle of washing it makes a squeal for about 30 seconds. I’ll put up with it if it works well otherwise.

We are remodeling the kitchen in a couple months and doing all new appliances since all the old ones are hanging by a thread. I'm so not looking forward to appliance shopping.

I have a Bosch that Consumer Report recommended, I literally have to put my ear on the panel to see if it was running. Sister in law saw mine and got one for her too. 45 db and impeccable quality.

For all your trouble you can put an entry level new dishwasher in there in about 30 minutes.

I did one in my old house that had a contractor dishwasher that didn't work well.

We use our dish washer every day or two, for two people in the house.
