5.8 or 5.4? 5.4 has issues, the old 5.8 doesn't.

A new to me 5.8, one of the last years for it I believe before they went to the modular engines. I still need to go through it and change the plugs and everything so I know its all correct, good to know it doesn't have the thread problem...
 
No plug problems in a 5.8. In fact, the first engine I ever changed the plugs on was an '87-'91 F-150 4x4 with that engine. I was sitting on the header panel just to reach the plugs, no way it was happening from the ground.
 
No kidding, you need a stepping stool just to reach into the engine bay, though this is a 250. It's seems to be a thirsty engine, but my initial mpg reading came in just shy of 15 mpg which isn't too bad for a 8600 gvw truck. Luckily by 97 they came with roller lifters and the like.
