"Chevron Delo 10-30 or 15-40.....
1 oz of Valvoline Syn Oil Treatment per quart. "

Sounds like a good recommendation to me, but I didn't know there was a Delo 10-30. Where can I find it?

I agree with Kingrob the best synblend on the market today is the Motorcraft line. Under two dollars a quart, available nearly everywhere and an all around great oil.

Delo by itself is fine..having an hydrocracked IsoSyn base GrpII+, for me I consider it already a syn blend oil...I mean heck, if GrpIII in the NA market is considered a synthetic.

Synthetic oil, no use using anything else, if not sell your car and buy a bicycle.

Regular dino in 99% of driving conditions if it is spiked with LC20. Best bet is a good name brand like Havoline/Chevron, Superflo, etc. Go by the auto manufacturer's weight and specifications and use the OLM if your car has one, or whatever OCI is recommended in the manual for your kind of driving. Follow the doseage suggested by LC20 and have a periodic UOA conducted evey now and then just to be sure.

This should provide for OCIs that will match synthetic and will probably give even greater protection, thanks to the LC20. Cheaper in the long run too! PS-use a good filter.

I put 191,000 on a 97 saab 900 turbo without any oil-related problems using mostly M1 5w30 and 10W30. I always did 3-5k mile change intervals and did a chemtool flush every so often. It never missed a lick, never leaked, never burned a drop between changes and was spotless under the valve cover. Was it overkill? Maybe, but like I said, 191,000 miles w/o a problem. If she weren't in a 3 car pile up I'd still be behind the wheel....
