Difficulty Finding Compatible NGK Spark Plugs for Generator

Different companies have different numbering system for their plugs. Some companies mach one another, but not all.
Denso heat range 22 matches NGK 7 plugs:

Don't use CR5HSB plugs because they are 2 heat ranges hotter. Also don't by spark plugs on eBay (and to some degree Amazon too) because they're often counterfeit. Make sure you buy them directly from the manufacturers or from authorized sellers. I shop a few times from www.sparkplugs.com and I think they sell genuine plugs. But I also bough counterfeit plugs from eBay that didn't last long.
Thanks, decided not to use the CR5HSB.

I bought the NGK iridiums on amazon. They are sold and shipped by amazon and lots of good reviews, so seems legit?

Be sure and check your amazon purchased NGK iridiums when they arrive. Here is a link on how to check NGK spark plugs:

Thanks for this. I just got my plugs from Amazon and they seem to check out regarding the items listed in the article: insulator text looks authentic, caulking is very smooth, has a lot number (though I couldn't see the font difference between real and fake in the article), slight marks on the C-groove but very small/faint, center electrode seems to match with clean weld.

The only thing that's getting my attention is the "JAPAN" stamp on the metal is in serif font instead of sans-serif, as in it has a line on the top of the J (only going out to the left, not left and right) and on the bottom of the P. I'm finding conflicting info as to which font is real or fake, and chatgpt says they are both legit and different fonts have been used in different factories over the years, so maybe that's not a good way to tell.

Other positive notes are:

-The resistance (bought four plugs): 5.73 kOhm, 4.59, 5.45, and 4.83. Chatgpt says this doesn't guarantee authenticity, but it seems to mean they are not guaranteed fakes.

-Someone on reddit said the crush washers should have three evenly spaced indentations, and mine have these.

I guess this is getting a little off topic from the original question, but I'm going to go with PASS on these and put one in the gen and see what happens. Let me know if anybody has any thoughts on the above. Thanks for the input.
