http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=48552 - Regular Locking Fuel Cap, Emission Control
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=48592 - states it's a "Pre-Release" Fuel Cap, Emission Control, due in part to the "changes in fuel formulations which have resulted in increased fuel volatility and vapor pressure"...is designed to permit the controlled release of fuel tank pressure from volatile fuels...This feature dramatically reduces the possibility of fuel expulsion from the filler neck when the cap is removed.Note, I've never had gas come flying out of any filler neck LOL.....
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=48590 - simply states Regular Fuel Cap ,Emission Control, meet or exceed all original equipment performance and safety standards.
Other than the locking caps...what's the difference between them, really...? My 88 Dodge Aries still has the original fuel cap
Perhaps it's time for a new cap? No "problems" per se....but how would I know if a cap needed to be replaced? Kind of considering the locking variety...since I have the fuel door that is opened easily from the outside.....no "lever" inside the car, so anyone technically could walk up and unscrew the cap, behind the "fuel door panel"....
