Had to run to Home Depo for the war dept this morning. The old truck still does what I need. I do wish the paint was better. AC is still cold though.
its an 87. Last year for the 6.9.Is the 87 a 6.9L or 7.3L? (I don't recall the year they changed over)
good ol' IDI engines.
Manual trans and xfer; reliability !

Ha! yeah I wasn't impressed either. I have a video of my TDI doing a cold start, but it was more like 10F. Ok that had glowplugs and was way newer, but still. It worked way harder to start. So the temperature finally dropped out of the 100's, for a cold start?![]()

A lot of people dont understand the glow plug system on these trucks and never get them to start Mine starts without waiting for the glow plugs to warm up .Six weeks? My 40 yo diesels sit for six months or more, some for years and will fire right up.
Diesels are great. And diesel fuel stays fairly stable.
Mine too. No need to go through a full cycle even during freezing temps…A lot of people dont understand the glow plug system on these trucks and never get them to start Mine starts without waiting for the glow plugs to warm up .
