Did PQIA Test High Mileage Engine Oils Yet?

I looked but could not find anything on the PQIA Site about high mileage oil.
I use Pennzoil High Mileage 5w30 and like it but i cant find nothing on that oil.... I know it does not have the energy conserving seal does anyone know why?

Hummm.... And they didn't hide in in the HDEO section (I'd hope not).

I haven't seen anything on High Mileage oils on the pqia site. As far as I know only Maxlife and Mobil Super 5000 High Mileage are the only two High Mileage oils that are energy conserving.

Some High Mileage oils do have ECII certification. Valvoline's MaxLife does. EC/ECII denotes a fuel economy improvement of (i think?) 1.5% greater than a reference sample oil. This is mostly done with thinning of the oil. If you look at the Product Data Sheet for MaxLife before the ECII label, it was thicker than it is today. My guess is Pennzoil wants to keep their High Mileage oils thicker for whatever reason. Seems this wasn't as important to MaxLife? But I think you're right, and it's a good point, PQIA doesn't seem to have any High Mileage oils. I would like to see that info too.

As I've said in one of the VOA threads some time ago, we owe the PQIA a debt of gratitude for the work they do. Obviously, all these tests are interesting to us. However, their work is to ensure API compliance. If a name brand high mileage oil isn't claiming a current API specification, let alone ILSAC certification, and isn't claiming it's something it's not, there's really no reason for the PQIA to test it.

+1 Garak, no reason for them to test them due to older API certifications, wouldn't be easy to compare them since some still use API SL spec.

Yep, and some have, at least historically, claimed no specification at all. I have seen jugs of Pennzoil High Mileage with no API claims on them whatsoever. That's not necessarily the norm, though. Unless something is claiming current specifications such as CJ-4, SN, SN/GF-5 (either compliance or showing the actual trademarks) or has a potentially misleading label, it's hard for me to ask that the PQIA use its limited resources to test oils for our own edification.

We can always ask the oil companies for information, or we can simply send samples in for VOAs at our own cost.

Like mentioned, I greatly appreciate the PQIA's work I am on their site constantly but I do so wish they would quit completely ignoring High Mileage oils. I mean they have all kinds of ATF's and oils nobody has heard of but not one High Mileage brew.

High Mileage is the next logical step PQIA!
