Did I use this filter too long?

Took this filter out of my 1991 BMW Airhead after nearly 3 years & 6-7K miles. Here are 4 photos which too my eyes vary, some look fine, and seeing sludge on the folds of certain pictures. What do your eyes see? This is a 2-piece hinged filter. These list for $25 now.

Only kidding i have seen worse with no problems change it at least once a year and all we be well

How do the insides of the OVH covers look? If the engine is sludging its oil, you'll see it there.

How did the oil itself look when you drained it?

Intact but very dirty! Change the oil and filter 1x per year in the Fall.
