Want to purchase a dial back timing light, in searching Google, Innova is getting top ratings, for those of you that have them do you agree? Or are there better out there?
TIA
I do not have an Innova timing light but I do have an Innova Multi/Dwell Meter (3340) and it has been excellent so far. Based on my experience with this Dwell Meter I'd have no problem with trying their timing lights if that helps. I do have an older Snap-On dial back timing light and, as noted, they are pretty expensive.
I bought a Snap on dial back timing light about 30 years ago for my boat engine and the older Forklifts our customers had . I looked at it about a month ago wondering who uses timing lights any more. Then again I have a Simpson meter that was popular to fix the electric forklifts when electricity was first invented because the shop manual used those and gave every setting to use when checking the components. I really an old and out dated.
I like my Sears Penske better than my (inherited) SO Dial Back. I like timing tapes!
Gotta tune those 60's engines to run on crappy CA 91* wannbe "Premium".
Basically start by cutting way back on vacuum advance. Keep total low with automatics and heavy cars.
I have one of those Snap On digital timing lights they came out with in the 90's. I really like the tach feature. I did find it doesn't work so well on engines with MSD. While building a car with a friend, he bought me an Innova light with the flex head. I like that a lot.
