I've had a set of Mayhew Dominator pry bars for awhile -- possibly ~20 years.
About a decade ago I bent the 17" straight version. I was definitely abusing it then and just used it as it was. The bending of the main shaft did not involve the tip at all -- the tip was out in space and touching nothing during the event.
Recently the tip cracked. I don't remember what I was doing, but it wasn't abusive -- just doing pry bar stuff with a pry bar.
I contacted Mayhew and had to jump through a couple basic hoops and send them pics. They really want you to go through the place of purchase but I honestly have NO idea where I bought these back around 2005-ish. If you explain this they'll warranty directly.
They shipped me a replacement and I'm satisfied. Personally I have no problem with requesting warranty here. The tip shouldn't crack like that and they do offer a lifetime warranty
